Is Cycling a Good Workout?

Indoor cycling can be an intense and effective workout. Cycling works the muscles in the legs, abdomen, and arms. At TRIBE Cycle, we curate our playlist music with choreography that works all of the different muscle groups and gets your heart racing. We program our bikes throughout class to increase intensity and resistance/weight. Increasing our bike resistance makes our muscles work harder as we push and pull the bike pedals beneath us! Our “climb” songs are built to increase our resistance to the maximum we can handle, giving that “feel the burn” moment!

Cycling is a cardio-intensive class that helps our riders burn hundreds of calories in each class. We also have a special part of class that incorporates light hand weights so we target our arm muscles, too!

At TRIBE, we like to incorporate a healthy mix of fast-paced, moderate-0paced and slow-paced songs throughout our 45-minute classes so we can target different goals and intensity levels. As a general rule, we suggest increasing your bike resistance whenever a particular song feels too easy, and decreasing your bike resistance whenever a particular song feels too intense or you cannot keep up with the beat of the music while riding.
